Mr. Las Vegas to play 2 Intimate shows This Year Limited Tickets

The Newton concert will be announced officially at a news conference this morning at the Robins along with four other events — the band Jefferson Starship on Sept. 25; a program featuring Daniel “Rudy” Reuttiger, the inspiration for the 1993 film “Rudy,” on Oct. 7; Don Felder, former guitar player with The Eagles, on Oct. 8; and Herman’s Hermits featuring Peter Noone on Dec. 9.
All six dates go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Robins box office and at robinstheatre.com.
Haidaris said Jefferson Starship should appeal to the same audience as Blood, Sweat & Tears and Justin Hayward (lead singer of the Moody Blues). Both acts were part of the schedule the Robins had announced in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the venue to concerts for more than a year. BST now is set for Sept. 12 and Hayward is scheduled Sept. 18.
Of Reuttiger’s appearance, Haidaris said, “I think that’s one of the neater shows … Everyone relates to the movie and Notre Dame, after Ohio State and maybe a couple others, has one of the bigger fan bases (for college football). I think that will be really cool.”
Felder concerts include many of the hits he recorded and played live with The Eagles, including “Already Gone,” “One of These Nights,” “Tequila Sunrise,” “Witchy Woman,” “Take It Easy” and “Hotel California.”
Herman’s Hermits, still led by its original lead singer, had 18 top 40 hits in the U.S. between 1964 and ’68 and even more hits in the UK.
“Those songs are classics, and that show sells out no matter where it is,” Haidaris said of Herman’s Hermits.
The new dates join a dozen other shows currently on the schedule, some that have been announced in recent weeks and others that have been rescheduled (in some cases multiple times) from 2020.
“(Promoter) Tom Simpson did a really great job of salvaging everything,” Haidaris said. “He’s the one who was moving everything around. It’s nice to finally get some finality out of it. People keep asking, ‘Are these dates still going forward?’ Yes, and that’s one of the reasons we wanted to do a press conference — to reaffirm the shows that have been announced and we wanted to announce some new ones.”
